T. Earl Hunsaker was born on August 13, 1894 in Honeyville, Utah. His parents were Robert S. Hunsaker and Minnie Wheateley. He married Laura Merle Higginson on July 13, 1918 and Della England on January 2, 1974 and had six children. He died in Ogden, Utah on November 23, 1985.

Mr. Hunsaker was a World War I veteran. He served as a Utah Highway Patrol officer for 30 years and then was involved in Cache County Civil Defense.

Mr. Hunsaker served as Logan City mayor from 1958 to 1962.

   1960

  • March ~ Work was completed on the new airport terminal building at the Logan-Cache Airport. In September officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the extended new north-south runway. 35

  • April ~ According to the 1960 Federal Census, the population of Logan was 18,731. 45

   1961

  • ~ KVSC, a radio station broadcasting from the university, changed its call letters to KUSU-FM to reflect the university's name change to Utah State University.

  • Spring ~ A restored Lyric Theatre opened as the Caine Lyric Theatre and home of the Utah State University Old Lyric Repertory Company. 7
