Its game day as Andy Kirk watches his brother play baseball. He always watches from a high limb in a tall tree. He cut ten slots in the branch five for the home and five for the away. In those slots Andy puts in coins to keep score by putting nickels for the home team and pennies for the visitors. Then in the 9th inning his brother is up to bat. He hits a HOME RUN!!!! Andy puts up two up fingers and makes a "v" for victory. A woman screams and Andy wishes he had wings.

Nelson loves to play baseball. His team is almost to the playoffs. The team has to win three more games and there're in, but then there coach and there pitcher quits. Nelson calls his cousin and she said she would coach. Nelson becomes pitcher. Then when they show mysterious messages start showing in the dirt at home plate signed by A.K. these messages give advice to the team. They make the playoffs. But do they ever find out who A.K. is? I like this book because it's an awesome mystery and a good sports book.
