This book is the greatest book in the world! It has good word choice, and good illustrations. It's about a boy named Thomas J. Ward and John Gregory. Tom has to save his friend, Alice and his master John from the Quisitor`s grip. Alice escaped, but freed the Bane also. The Bane is a creature that sees through people's minds. The bad part is that it wants its power back; the only way to do that is to kill people and suck their blood. John is hurt and he's weak. Tom and John have to go to Heysham to talk to Naze, the only one whoever got to bind the Bane. If they're lucky, maybe they can find a way to kill the Bane. This is a book that is kind of scary but also an adventure. If something bad happens, somehow, and in some way, theres a way to make it all good.
