Each year the American Library Association gives the Alex Award to 10 books written for adults that have appeal to young adult readers. If you want to expand your reading beyond the young adult section, books that have won the Alex Award are a good place to start. You can find the list of this year's and past winners on the American Library Association website. The Logan Library owns these books from the 2008 list:

• Bad Monkeys by Matt Ruff
• The God of Animals by Aryn Kyle
• A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah
• The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
• The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz

• 58%: same some money.

• 8%: keep having fun.

The Logan Library is in the process of making plans for a new public library. We are holding two meetings this week to find out Teens would like to see in a new library. These meetings will be on the following dates in the Logan Library Archive room:

• Tuesday, January 22 3:30 pm
• Thursday, January 24 3:30 pm

We'll ask you how you use the library, what you think the Teen/Young Adult area in the new library should look like, and what services you think we should offer for Teens.
