by Elizabeth George Speare
A young woman, her sister, and her sisters' family are settled in a new land in the West. Suddenly they are attacked and taken captive by Indians then sold to the French settlers hundreds of miles away. The husband is imprisoned, while the children are all separated from their parents. This is a tragic story with lots of drama, romance and adventure.
