Dig Into Reading - Children's Summer Reading Program 2013

Children's Summer Reading Program 2013

This summer, we want everyone to dig into reading! Dig into dinosaur books, dig into gardening books, books about construction, animals, archaeology, outer space, history, mysteries, sports, funny books, scary books, silly books, thoughtful books, joke books, or books about the beach. Dig deep into all kinds of books and have fun reading about what you like!

When is the Children's Summer Reading Program?

Sign-ups for the Children's Summer Reading Program begin on Monday, June 3rd.

Who Can Participate?

Children 10 and under.

How Does it Work?

Sign up for the Summer Reading Program, then read for at least 20 minutes each day. You may count the time you spend reading picture books, chapter books, informational books, comic books, newspapers, or magazines. You may also count the time you spend listening to books that are read to you, or to recorded books. There are no assignments (and never any tests) - you choose what you want to read!

Keep track of your reading on your Reading Card and you will get a small prize when you bring the completed card back to the library. You may turn in one reading card every two weeks. You can earn up to four prizes this summer, just by reading!
