Can I Use NetLibrary eAudiobooks from Home?
Yes. You will need your Library Card number and Pin number to login to NetLibrary eAudiobooks from home.
Do I Need a NetLibrary Account to Access eAudiobooks?
Yes. In addition to your library card and pin number, you need a NetLibrary account to download eAudiobooks. A free preview is available for most eAudiobooks, but you must first create an account to download complete eAudiobooks. To create an account, go to NetLibrary and click the Create a Free Account link in the top right corner of the screen.
What do I Need to Download or Play eAudiobooks on My Computer?
To download or play eAudiobooks on your desktop or laptop, you need one of the following:
- Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 or higher
- Musicmatch Jukebox 8.2 or higher
- Nullsoft Winamp 5 or higher
Can I Play eAudiobooks on Portable Devices?
Yes. eAudiobooks are compatible with a wide range of portable devices, including portable music players, portable media centers, Pocket PCs, and even select smartphone devices. For more information, see supported portable listening devices.
What Portable Devices are Supported by NetLibrary
NetLibrary eAudiobooks will play on portable devices that support the Windows Media PlayForSure format. This is a list of devices that have been tested with NetLibrary eAudiobooks. NetLibrary eAudiobooks will not play on iPods or Microsoft Zune's because these players use a different encryption format.
Can I burn an eAudiobook to a CD?
Yes and no. NetLibrary cannot stop you from burning an eAudiobook file to a CD, but encryptions on the file will make it unusable. So, it won't work.
How do I listen to an eAudiobook in my Car?
To listen to an eAudiobook in a car, you'll need a radio transmitter or other device adapter that works with your portable listening device and car stereo. Contact your device manufacturer for specific requirements.
How do I Transfer an eAudiobook to a Portable Device?
Follow these instructions to transfer an eAudiobook from your computer to a portable device
If you use Window Media PLayer, version 9, follow these instructions:
- Connect your portable device to your computer following the device's instructions.
- Open Windows Media Player.
- In the File menu, open the downloaded file. This activates the license and begins to play the eAudiobook.
- In the File menu, select Copy and then select Copy to Portable Device.
- Click the Copy button located above the right pane.
- When the transfer is complete, disconnect your portable device following its instructions.
- Close Windows Media Player.
- Enjoy listening to the eAudiobook on your portable device.
If you use Windows Media Player, version 10, follow these instructions:
- Connect your portable device to your computer following the device's instructions.
- Open Windows Media Player.
- In the File menu, open the downloaded file. This activates the license and begins to play the eAudiobook.
- Click the Library tab.
- Find your eAudiobook title in the Playlist.
- Select Sync List in the drop-down menu above the right pane.
- Drag the eAudiobook title into the right pane.
- Click the Start Sync button located below the right pane.
- When synchronizing is 100 percent complete, disconnect your portable device following its instructions.
- Close Windows Media Player.
- Enjoy listening to the eAudiobook on your portable device.
