Centennial Celebration at Logan Library - 1990s
clear
As part of the Logan Library Centennial Celebration, the Logan Library is celebrating the 1990s "Harry Potter style".

When: Saturday, January 16th

Stop in between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. to enjoy treats from Honeyduke's, make a wand at Olivander's or be sorted by the sorting hat. And don't forget to check out our 1990s muggle museum.

Come dressed as a muggle or wear your best wizarding gear.

At 3:00 p.m. join us for the movie that started it all, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. We'll meet at Platform 9¾ and hope to see you there!

This program is part of the Logan Library Centennial Commemoration.

Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence 2016 Winners
clear
The Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction were established in 2012 to recognize the best fiction and nonfiction books for adult readers published in the U.S. the previous year.

Congratulations to Viet Thanh Nguyen and Sally Mann, the 2016 winners!

Viet Thanh Nguyen won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction for his novel The Sympathizer. A profound, startling, and beautifully crafted debut novel, The Sympathizer is the story of a man of two minds, someone whose political beliefs clash with his individual loyalties.

Sally Mann won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction for her book, Hold Still: A Memoir with Photographs. Here photographer Mann chronicles her rich and eccentric family history, told through the exploration of old documents and images stored away in her attic.

Book: Bubba the Cowboy Prince: a fractured Texas Tale by Helen Ketteman

Recommended by: Marie

Cinderella meets Texas fella. A predictable fairy tale ending but with characters and wit you wouldn't quite expect from this fairy godmother. A story sure to tickle your funny bone and guaranteed to have you in stitches from the first page to the last.
