Nobel Prize in Literature Announced

The 2007 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to Doris Lessing, a British writer best known for her 1962 book, The Golden Notebook. The prize announcement describes Lessing as "that epicist of the female experience, who with skepticism, fire and visionary power has subjected a divided civilization to scrutiny".
