New Book A Librarian Service

The Logan Library is pleased to offer a free Book A Librarian service. This service schedules one-on-one customized help and skill-building sessions with a librarian or subject specialist, letting you 'Learn what you want, when you want'.

Requests for information are reviewed by librarians who will contact you to set up an appointment for a session. You can Book A Librarian to ask about:
  • Computer basics
  • Mobile device (tablet and smartphone) basics
  • Microsoft Office software basics (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Internet and email basics
  • Facebook basics
  • Downloading and using library eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines
  • Digital Media Lab basics
  • 3D Printer basics
  • General research
  • Genealogy/Family History research basics
  • Job search basics
  • The library's online research resources
  • The library's online catalog and "My Account"
  • Library tours and orientation
  • or any other question that may take time and attention to answer

Kindles for Check-Out Program

The Logan Library is both pleased and excited to announce the roll-out of a new library service program: "Kindles for Check-Out!"

Logan Library card holders now have the opportunity to check-out Kindle eReaders that have been preloaded with content. A total of 12 different eReaders are available for 3 week loan periods and each will contain at least 5 eBooks by genre, subject matter or reading level, i.e. Mysteries, Young Adult, Nonfiction, Children's. The Kindles may be picked-up in the Library during regular operating hours, or they can be placed on hold, similar to placing holds on traditional books and DVDs.

List of eReaders. To see the list of eBooks on each eReader, click on the title of the eReader and then go into the Catalog Record for a complete list of the contents.

Learning @ The Library
clear
Logan Library presents the next round of Learning @ the Library classes designed to help you access and enjoy the many resources available through the library.

Topics this summer will include using tablets and eReaders to access library materials, downloading eAudiobooks and eMagazines, and getting started with computers and Facebook. Classes are limited to six people each and are free of charge. You can either bring your own device or use one of the library's.
