The American Library Association announced their book award winners yesterday. The winners of the children's book awards are: John Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children's literature. When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. Randolph Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children The Lion & The Mouse by Jerry Pinkney Robert F. Sibert Medal for most distinguished informational book for children: Almost Astronauts: 13 Women Who Dared to Dream by Tanya Lee Stone Michael L.
