![]() 2007 Man Booker Prize Announced

Anne Enright has been awarded the 2007 Man Booker Prize for her novel The Gathering. The Man Booker Prize is a literary prize awarded each year for the best original full-length novel, written in the English language, by a citizen of either the British Commonwealth of Nations or the Republic of Ireland. ![]() Nobel Prize in Literature Announced

The 2007 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to Doris Lessing, a British writer best known for her 1962 book, The Golden Notebook. The prize announcement describes Lessing as "that epicist of the female experience, who with skepticism, fire and visionary power has subjected a divided civilization to scrutiny". You can read more about Lessing and her works in the Nobel Foundation Press Release announcing the award.
