National Library Week - Dual Lecture Night
The Library is celebrating National Library Week next week, April 11-17. The theme for this year's National Library Week is Communities Thrive @ Your Library, so we have invited two community speakers to share their expertise.
First Time Gardening: Presented by Mark Anderson of Anderson's Seed & Garden. The lecture will cover when to plant, how to plant, and what to plant. Perfect for those new to gardening or anyone needing a refresher course.
First Time Budgeting: Presented by USU Housing & Financial Counseling Center. This lecture will cover financial topics such as how to track your income and expenses, control methods, and types of savings. Great for anyone needing to brush up on their budgeting skills.
Both lectures will take place at the Logan Library at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 15. Visit our National Library Week webpage for more ways to participate.

Banned Books Week 2009
This week is Banned Books Week. Banned Books week is an annual event that celebrates freedom to read or the freedom to express one's opinion even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular. Banned Books Week stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints to all who wish to read them. To see a list of books that others have attempted to ban, view The American Library Association's (ALA) list of Frequently Challenged Books. While you are on the ALA website take a look at their list of Banned and Challenged Classics. Chances are that you will find one of your favorites on that list.
Celebrate your freedom to read by selecting a book from a list of banned books available at the Logan Library.
