Your Library - Our Future

As an essential community gathering place, there is broad consensus that the City of Logan needs a new library: one that is designed as a library with ample programming and meeting room space, personal and group study space, electrical and data connectivity for increased use of technological applications, sufficient room for the vibrant and relevant collection of books and media, flexibly planned space for patron collaboration and creativity, as well as more efficient heating/cooling systems and seismic stability.

Recent action taken by the Logan Library Board of Trustees regarding a new building includes:

  • The decision to not continue with the same building plans as were developed in 2008
  • The decision to incorporate a more cost effective design and one that would compliment other buildings in downtown Logan
  • The decision to still utilize the data gathered through formal studies and community input in 2008
  • A resolution stating that the Board highly recommends and favors a location for a new building on or very near Main Street; and that they do not favor a shared-use facility with Logan City School District

The data that are referred to above can be found in the links listed below. This information should not be lost and is still pertinent as we continue to plan for a new facility.

A very important part of our library's future is tied to the efforts of the Friends of the Logan Library group. Please consider learning more about and becoming a member of the Logan Library Friends.

The Logan Library is here for you, our friends and neighbors in the City of Logan. Therefore "our future" is "your future" when it comes to high-quality library services. We look forward to partnering with you to make good things happen!
