Isaac D. Haines

Isaac D. Haines was born 16 September 1835 in Bloom Township, Morgan County, Ohio. His parents were Smith Haines and Elizabeth Baker (or Smith).  He married Elizabeth Highfield the 31st of December 1863 in Sonora, Ohio and they had seven children. He died 27 March 1901 in Ogden, Utah and is buried there.[1]

The Haines family came to Utah around 1885 after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During his time in Utah, Mr. Haines held some responsible positions. He was mayor of Logan City from 1890 to 1892, which position he filled with honor. In 1894 he was appointed superintendent of the State Industrial School at Ogden. He held other positions of prominence and always made many friends.[2]
