Utah Plein Air Exhibit (Brigham)

Painters and nature crossed paths during the Brigham City Museum’s Fourth Annual Plein Air Competition. The event was open to all ages. Works submitted will hang in the museum Sept. 8 through Nov. 11. Each artist also submitted a small painting for a fundraiser for the museum at a minimal cost. These pieces are also on display.

Winners of the competition are as follows: Susette Gertsch of Midway, First Place for “The Wild Garden”; Don Miskin of Logan, Second Place for “Farm to Market Road’; and G. Russell Case of Brigham City, Third Place for “Morning Flight.” All of these paintings received purchase prizes and will enter the museum’s permanent art collection.

An Awards Reception will be held Nov. 11th at 4:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited.

“En plein air” is a French expression that refers to the 19th century style of painting outdoors.

6:00 PM Senior Wish Program Benefit Dinner and Auction

All proceeds will provide Senior Wish experiences for Box Elder and Cache County CNS Patients.

Tickets include dinner and a raffle ticket and must be purchased by October 30th.

The Community Nursing Services (CNS) Senior Wish Program gives our senior patients the opportunity to relive a cherished memory or experience a new adventure. Senior Wish is our way of honoring a generation of hard working individuals with a special experience. Most of our Senior Wish recipients are in a medically fragile state and have entered into palliative or hospice care. The age of our recipients varies and wishes are granted to patients who are in the “senior” part of their life, regardless of age. Wishes can be something as simple as a meal brought in from a favorite restaurant for a bed bound patient to going for a ride in a race car! Senior Wishes are very meaningful to patients and their caregivers.
