Built Environment Exhibit

In commemoration of Utah State University’s 130-year anniversary and the Year of the Arts, the Merrill-Cazier Library presents an exhibit celebrating USU’s Built Environment. The exhibition tells the story of USU’s development and highlights student and community efforts to shape the campus.

The exhibit runs from Jan. 29th through March 2nd.

There will be a grand opening on Feb. 8th in the library atrium at 4:30. Then at 5:30 in room 101 there will be a guest speaker, Martha Bradley Evans, a professor in the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Utah.

Sleigh Rides at Hardware Ranch WMA

Hardware Ranch WMA offers a unique opportunity to get up close to wild Rocky Mountain Elk on a horse drawn sleigh. Beginning Dec 8th, 2017 until Feb 26th, 2018, Hardware Ranch is open Mon & Fri 12 noon - 4:30pm, and Sat & Sun 10am - 4:30pm. Tickets are sold in the Visitors Center.

10:00 AM SNC Explore Snow Science!

Come and explore the Science of Snow with Stokes Nature Center! We will learn how snow is formed, how to read the layers in the snow pack and discover what all this means for avalanche risk and spring runoff.

What to wear: Snowshoes provided! Please dress in warm layers and be prepared to spend over an hour outdoors in the snow. Warm water proof boots, socks, snow pants, hat and gloves are especially important.

Carpooling: We will be meeting at First Dam parking lot at 9 am to carpool up to Beaver Bottoms. Our van can hold up to 10 passengers. We will plan to begin the program at 10 am if you prefer to meet us at our destination.

11:30 AM Loaves and Fishes Community Meal

Join us for a meal around a shared table and help us build community together! Free and open to all, this meal is hosted by different organizations as we work to get to know others from around the valley. Served from 11:30-1:00.

Held the first and third Saturday of every month. Non-denominational and community supported by a variety of Cache Valley agencies and organizations, including St Thomas, St John's, Prince of Peace, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cache Valley Food Pantry, Volunteer Center, PAWS, and others. All are welcome. The meal is not sponsored by or promoting a specific church or belief.

Join us for our 31st Annual Valentine Chocolate Festival!

Amateurs and professionals submit cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, chocolates and non-chocolate sweets for judging and public tasting. Prizes are awarded in each category. The public may taste and bid on their favorite deserts and other items at the silent and live auctions.

Awards at 8:15 pm. Live auction at 8:45 pm.

Logan Youth Shakespeare perform William Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice. Special matinee performance on February 3rd at 2:00 pm.

The Logan Youth Shakespeare (LYS) program provides a new opportunity for Cache Valley youth (aged 9-18) to learn and perform Shakespeare plays. Young actors experience the beauty of Shakespeare's language and the relevance of his characters by acting in his plays.

The Scarlet Pimpernel is a swashbuckling action/adventure musical, with broad comedy liberally mixed into a story of love and war set during the “Reign of Terror” in the early years of the French Revolution. Please join us at the Whittier for a community contra dance. These dances are open to the public, so bring your friends and family. Beginners are always welcome. No partner necessary. Each dance is taught. Live music and calling. Great exercise and lots of fun.

Presented by the Bridger Folk Music Society Cache Valley Folk Dancers.
