Adult Winter Reading Program Begins

The winter reading program for adults will begin Monday, December 3 and the theme is Read Around the World.

From Dec 1st to Feb 28th, adults are invited to track their reading time, write a review, or play bingo for entries into our drawings for gift cards and other prizes. To match our theme, one of the grand prize $50 gift cards is to Global Village Gifts!

This round, we've also added the option of receiving three entries into our drawing for completing a language course through Mango Languages!

Everything needed is available at the Information Desk or online at library.loganutah.org/books/ReadingProgram.

Hour of Code Week

As a part of the International Hour of Code initiative, the library will be hosting a coding event each day!

  • Monday: Lake Bonneville Room, 4:30-6:30 PM
    • Using "Google's CS First" users will tell a story
  • Tuesday: Teen Tuesday, Jim Bridger Room, 3:30-5 PM
    • Coding a snowflake (along with whatever else they'll be doing at Teen Tuesday)
  • Wednesday: Tween Time, Lake Bonneville Room, 4-5 PM
    • Dance of the Sugar Plum Spheroes; users will try to make sphero robots dance.
  • Thursday: Science Club, Lake Bonneville Room, 3:30-5 PM
    • Computer Science Unplugged; recognizing patterns and giving instructions are the building blocks of Computer Science
  • Friday: Lake Bonneville Room, 5-7 PM
    • Christmas coding for everyone! Using programs in Google's Santa village, anyone can code! From making an elf dance to finding all the presents in Santa's forest, everyone can play with computers.

Parade of Gingerbread Homes

With the holiday season here, it’s time again for the 19th Annual Parade of Gingerbread Homes in Downtown Logan.

The event has grown into a much loved local tradition, not only for the architects who design gingerbread creations but for everyone who participates by voting on their favorite edible wonderland. This year, each architect will have a chance to win one of six $100 Grand Prizes! Voting Ballots are available at each site beginning Saturday, December 1st.

This is a self-guided walking tour and the sites and architects include:

5:00 PM Secrets: Shakespeare and the Connected World

A student-curated exhibit of 16th and 17th century rare books on science, medicine, and magic, from USU Special Collections #&38 Archives. Come learn about the secrets Shakespeare and his contemporaries found hidden in the connected world of nature, the stars, and the human body.

The exhibit will be on display from November 27th thur January 5th.

An opening reception will be held November 27th from 5pm to 7pm.

6:30 PM Library Movie Night

Logan Library hosts a movie night each Monday. This event is free and open to the public and popcorn will be provided. Upcoming films include:
