Gerald and Piggie Party!

To celebrate the beginning of another year of preschool and toddler storytime, and the 1-year anniversary of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Logan Library, we are holding a Gerald and Piggie Thank You Party! There will be crafts, games, treats, and books to read.

This is a drop-in activity for children ages 5 and under and their parents/caregivers.

We will be holding this activity on both Tuesday and Wednesday. It's for any preschool-age children - they don't have to be enrolled in the 1000 books program or signed up for storytime. Kids and their parents are welcome to drop in, do the crafts and have a treat at any time during any of the parties - there won't be a set program they'll need to be there for.

Logan Library Storytime Registration

The Logan Library holds five preschool storytime sessions each week for children ages 3-5:

  • 11:00 am Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday
  • 1:00 pm Tuesday or Wednesday

Please register for one of these sessions for your child to attend. Your child's registration is good for one storytime block, which lasts six weeks. To continue attending, you must register your child for another block.

You must pre-register for the session you would like to attend. You may register online, in person, or by phone.

Storytime introduces children to books, reading and the library. Each storytime explores a different theme through books, the flannelboard, songs, poems, fingerplays, puppets, and more. Each week we distribute a take-home handout for parents and children that includes booklists, fingerplays, poetry, simple craft ideas, and a coloring activity. Storytime lasts approximately thirty minutes.

A child must be three by the first day of storytime to register for that block.

Upcoming Registration Dates are as follows:

  • Block 1: Sign-up begins Monday, August 21st
  • Block 2: Sign-up begins Monday, October 9th
  • Block 3: Sign-up begins Monday, November 13th
  • Block 4: Sign-up begins Monday, February 5th
  • Block 5: Sign-up begins Monday, March 26th

For children under three, we have a Toddler Time program Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at 11:00 am that lasts approximately 20 minutes. This is a drop-in storytime and does not require pre-registration.

Spanish-Language Storytimes are also held every Wednesday at 10:00 am and 6:30 pm. No registration is required.
