Forever Plaid
Come enjoy a night of entertainment in beautiful Bear Lake! Start the evening off at the famous western cook-out, where you'll enjoy a huge western meal with your choice of rib-eye steak, lemon herb chicken, boneless BBQ pork ribs, or crispy chicken strips. With your belly full, enjoy a live stage production of the heavenly musical hit Forever Plaid in Pickleville's historic log theater. It'll be a night of family entertainment you'll never forget! The season starts June 8th and ends September 8th. See website for dinner and show prices. Special rates are available for groups of 25 or more. Dinner is served at 6:30pm and the show starts at 8pm. Call or visit website for more information.

One of the most wildly popular and requested musicals in Pickleville history, this deliciously goofy revue-style musical centers on the "Plaids," a hilarious four-part harmony group who are killed in a car accident on the way to their first big show. Miraculously they are given one last chance to perform their first (and last) concert before their immanent disappearance into the eternities. With beautiful tight harmonies, a hilariously quirky script, and outlandish choreography performed as only the "Plaids" can do, Forever Plaid is a musical experience that your entire family will love. Screamingly funny, entirely enchanting, and utterly entertaining!

9:30 AM Common Literature Experience - Convocation Lecture
The Beast in the Garden by David Baron has been selected as the 2012 USU Common Literature Experience book. Each year a book is chosen by a selection committee for USU Connections students and the Cache Valley community to read during the summer.

Everyone is also invited to attend the convocation talk by the author at USU on Saturday, August 25 at 9:30AM. For the first time this year, the convocation will be broadcast online at aggiecast.usu.edu and the library's Bonneville Room will be a satellite viewing location. Come watch it with us!

Joseph Anderson, Logan Library's representative on the committee, shares his thoughts about The Beast in the Garden: "This book is an important read for anyone living in the American West, but it's also an exciting and frightening tale because it's true. What happens when modern American cities are once again faced with large predators within their borders?"

Logan Library has four single copies of the book and also a book club kit (generously donated by USU) for our patrons. For more information about the book, the author, or the convocation, visit the USU Common Literature Experience website.
