Utah Plein Air Exhibit (Brigham)

During the Brigham City Museum’s Plein Air Exhibition, every corner visitors turn in the gallery they will experience the immensity and power of Utah’s landscapes. The scenic paintings will be on display Sept. 8 through Nov. 3. Admission is free.

“En plein air” is a French expression that refers to the 19th century style of painting outdoors.

Come join us in the Lake Bonneville Room every Thursday afternoon at 3:30pm for our After School Activity Programs. Each week is something different. Choose your interests or come every week. All activities are free and open to the public. Intended for kids age 5 to 11 and their families.

4:00 PM Corn Maze on the Farm

Bring in the fall at AWHC with our Corn Maze on the Farm for some fall family fun. Visitors can walk through the corn maze, pumpkin patch, play in the bounce house, giant Connect 4 and Kiddy Sandbox. Don't miss out!

5:00 PM Allegories and Metaphors: Lecture with Conseptual Artist Paul Kos

During his nearly 50 year career as an artist, Paul Kos has pushed the boundaries of conceptual art. Kos, a founder of the Bay Area Conceptual Art movement, will share his insights into allegory and metaphor in a lecture at NEHMA.

A reception will be held following the lecture. The event is free and open to the public.

Our corn maze is a ton of fun. From our Hay forts to the Haunted River trail it is our goal to offer a variety of activities associated with fall and Halloween to make Little Bear Bottoms fun for people of all ages.

7:00 PM Helicon West Open Mic Night

Helicon West is an open-mic reading/featured readers series for local poets and writers. Creative writers are invited to read up to 7 minutes of their original work. Arrive early to sign up. Readings are free, open to the public and uncensored.

Helicon West provides a regularly-scheduled place and time for members of the writing community to give their work a public voice, with no restrictions on levels of skill and no censorship of ideas or craft. Publication of readers' work is a main goal.

Sponsored by the USU Writing Center and the Logan Library.

Come join us in learning more about popular fashion surrounding the world wars. The lecture will be led by Dr. Nancy Hills.

Dr. Hills is a full professor in and head of USU's Theater Costume Design program. She has been recognized internationally for her work in costume design, receiving the Janet Arnold Award from the Society of Antiquaries in London in 2013.

7:00 PM Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Critique Group

The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) is presenting a free in-person peer critique session.

This group is open to anyone interested in writing or illustrating for children. Great opportunity to meet and connect with other writers and illustrators in the region.

Bring 4 copies of your Young Adult, Middle Grade or Chapter Book manuscript (up to 5 pages double spaced) or a complete Picture Book manuscript or poem. Illustrators are welcome to share their portfolios.
