Built Environment Exhibit

In commemoration of Utah State University’s 130-year anniversary and the Year of the Arts, the Merrill-Cazier Library presents an exhibit celebrating USU’s Built Environment. The exhibition tells the story of USU’s development and highlights student and community efforts to shape the campus.

The exhibit runs from Jan. 29th through March 2nd.

There will be a grand opening on Feb. 8th in the library atrium at 4:30. Then at 5:30 in room 101 there will be a guest speaker, Martha Bradley Evans, a professor in the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Utah.

Sleigh Rides at Hardware Ranch WMA

Hardware Ranch WMA offers a unique opportunity to view wild Rocky Mountain Elk on a horse drawn sleigh. Beginning Dec 7, 2018 until Feb 11, 2019, Hardware Ranch is open Mon & Fri 12 noon - 4:30pm, and Sat & Sun 10am - 4:30pm. Tickets sold in the Visitors Center. $5 ages 9 & up, $3 & under FREE

8:00 AM Birds of First Dam and Canal Trail Field

We will be exploring the many February birds located at First Dam and follow the Canal Trail west. This is a great opportunity for birders off all experience to get a very close up encounter with birds in Cache Valley. The Canal Trail provides a wide variety of woodpeckers, songbirds, and thrushes.

10:00 AM Rock-n-Fossil Day

Enjoy demonstrations of how a stream flows and how rocks break. View sections of rock under a microscope. Watch Geology videos. A "fossil dig" and dinosaur cookies will be provided for children. Guests are invited to bring a rock, mineral or fossil for identification by a USU geologist.

The event will be held in the Geology Building, located at the northeast corner of the USU Quad in Logan. Parking is available in the surface lot south of Old Main.

11:00 AM NEHMA Family Art Day

This month, participants will be able to create their own watercolor artwork to depict their ideal springtime scene as well as exploring weather conditions throughout NEHMA's collection.. This event is open to the public.

The 11th Annual USU College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences Chili Cook-off event is open to everyone. Unlimited chili (while it lasts) and the public is encouraged to wear their best superhero costume. Anyone is welcome to enter the cook-off for a chance to win prizes and bragging rights.

7:00 PM Jazz Night at Elite Hall

Jazz Night at Elite Hall is one of the greatest annual events that is hosted in Cache Valley! We invite everyone young and old, to come support two great causes -The Larry Smith Jazz Scholarship and the Elite Hall Restoration.

Over the 3-day event, the USU Big Bands, directed by Jon Gudmundson and Greg Wheeler, will serenade you with jammin', live jazz music while you dance the night away on Utah's only spring-loaded dance floor!

Each night, the USU Big Band Swing Club will be teaching lessons starting at 6:00 PM for those who would like to brush up on their swing steps or learn some new ones!

Please be aware that Thursday night, February 22nd, is a dancing-only night. Catered dinner will only be served Friday and Saturday night.

After a curse is placed upon King Sextimus, evil Queen Aggravain takes control of the kingdom and creates a test that any princess must pass in order to wed her son. This hilarious, romantic musical puts a rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship. You’ll never look at fairy tales the same way again!
