National Friends of Libraries Week!

Celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week at the Logan Library!

  • Monday, October 19th:
    • Join us for our Centennial Celebration of the 1960's!
      • 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm
    • Special presentation of Disney's animated movie The Jungle Book (G)
      • 6:30 pm in the Jim Bridger room

  • Wednesday, October 21st:
    • Displays on US and World events of the 1960's, all day long
      • Featuring historical recordings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and John F. Kennedy.
    • Dr. Ross Peterson, USU Professor
      • Discussion on the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's.

  • All week long: the Friends of the Logan Library will be holding a Special Book Sale.
    • Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm; Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Logan Library Storytime Registration

Logan Library's Storytime is a program for children 5 and under that introduces children to books, reading, and the library. Each Storytime we explore a different theme through books, songs, puppet stories, fingerplays, and more!

Registration is required for our preschool Storytime for children ages 3 to 5. It is 30 minute program offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Choose a day and time and go to http://library.loganutah.org/kids/storytime.cfm to register your child. Each registration lasts for 1 block which is six weeks.

Upcoming Registration Dates are as follows:

  • Block 1: Sign-up begins Monday, August 10th
  • Block 2: Sign-up begins Monday, September 28th
  • Block 3: Sign-up begins Monday, November 30th
  • Block 4: Sign-up begins Monday, February 8th
  • Block 5: Sign-up begins Monday, March 28th

For children under three, we have a Toddler Time program Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at 11AM that lasts approximately 15 minutes. This is a drop-in storytime and does not require pre-registration.

Spanish-Language Storytimes are also held every Wednesday at 10:15 am and 6:30 pm. No registration is required.

9:00 AM Pumpkin Walk (North Logan)

Since 1983, the North Logan Pumpkin Walk has been a Cache Valley Utah tradition! This free to the public event features dozens of displays created from pumpkins by local residents.

Park at Greenville Elementary (400 E. 2500 North) or the Cache Valley Specialty Hospital. The Cache Valley Transit District will run buses every few minutes between the school to Elk Ridge Park, where the Pumpkin Walk is held. The Pumpkin Walk is open from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm each day.

Carla Schulz will be back this year with her puppets and a new show.

7:00 PM Historic Downtown Logan Ghost Tour

An all new ghost tour awaits your arrival this Halloween Season in Historic Downtown Logan.

The Cache Theatre Company will raise the hair on your neck as you begin your tour with the telling of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher before sending you out into the night to walk the Old Canal Trail and experience paranormal activity too close for comfort!

Your private guided tour will take you into the heart of Logan’s haunted history as you visit sites with the Bridgerland Storytelling Guild to learn about some of downtown’s most infamous ghosts! The Historic Downtown Logan Ghost Tour is technically a family-friendly tour, however, it is not recommended for small children or people who don’t like to be scared.

Each guided tour runs approximately 100 minutes and walking distance about one mile, so dress to stay warm. Tours run nightly at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm Fridays and Saturdays (October 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25). Guided tours depart from The Emporium, 3rd Floor, at 55 North Main Street and end at the Bluebird Candy Company, 75 West Center Street, home of the Famous Bluebird Chocolates! Plenty of parking west of The Emporium.

Each Ghost Tour includes free hot cocoa, coffee, Johnny O's doughnut holes, a Bluebird chocolate, a paranormal light stick, free parking, and a great time!
