Logan Library Storytime Registration
Logan Library's Storytime is a program for children 5 and under that introduces children to books, reading, and the library. Each Storytime we explore a different theme through books, songs, puppet stories, fingerplays, and more!

Registration is required for our preschool Storytime for children ages 3 to 5. It is 30 minute program offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Choose a day and time and go to http://library.loganutah.org/kids/storytime.cfm to register your child. Each registration lasts for 1 block which is six weeks.

Upcoming Registration Dates are as follows:

Block 2 Monday, October 7th to Saturday, October 26th
     Block 2 registration begins Monday, October 7th and ends Saturday October 26th.
     Storytime for Block 2 begins Tuesday, October 22nd.

Block 3 Monday, December 2nd to Saturday, January 11th
     Block 3 registration begins Monday, December 2nd and ends Saturday, January 11th.
     Storytime for Block 3 begins Tuesday, January 7th.

Block 4 Monday, February 10th to Saturday, March 1st
     Block 4 registration begins Monday, February 10th and ends Saturday, March 1st.
     Storytime for Block 4 begins Tuesday, February 25th.

Block 5 Monday, March 31st to Saturday April 19th
     Block 5 registration begins Monday, March 31st and ends Saturday April 19th.
     Storytime for Block 5 begins Tuesday, April 15th.

For children under three, we have a Toddler Time program Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at 11AM that lasts approximately 15 minutes. This is a drop-in storytime and does not require pre-registration.

Pumpkin Walk
North Logan invites you to attend the 2013 Pumpkin Walk, "A Walk to Remember". Since 1983, the Pumpkin Walk has been a Cache Valley Utah tradition! This free to the public event features dozens of scenes created with hundreds of pumpkins and gourds.

Park at Greenville Elementary (400 E. 2500 North) or the Cache Valley Specialty Hospital. The Cache Valley Transit District will run buses every few minutes between the school to Elk Ridge Park, where the Pumpkin Walk is held. The Pumpkin Walk is open from 9AM to 10PM each day.

6:00 PM Pumpkinella Puppet Show
Carla Shulz is back at the Pumpkin Walk with her puppet show. Come see what the talk was about. Shows run every 20 minutes from 6PM-9PM, plus matinee showings on Saturday from 12PM-3PM. Free admission.

7:00 PM Friends of the Logan Library Meeting
The purpose of the Friends of the Logan Library is to support and promote the Logan Library.

This group was organized in January 2014 and meets on a monthly basis. Anyone interested in becoming a member of this group and a "Friend" of the Logan Library is welcome to attend!

7:00 PM Helicon West Open Mic Night
Helicon West is an open-mic reading/featured readers series for local poets and writers. Creative writers are invited to read up to 7 minutes of their original work. Arrive early to sign up. Readings are free, open to the public and uncensored. Listed below are details on some upcoming events:

January 16: Liz Stephens, former USU instructor, author of The Days are Gods, featured at Helicon West.
*NOTE: This reading takes place on the 3rd Thursday of the month, rather than the 2nd

January 23: Darren Edwards, former USU instructor and HW planner, current instructor at Dixie State University and co-founder of Storm the Mic, an award winning literary magazine, featured at Helicon West.

February 13: The Cache Valley Chapter of the League of Utah Writers featured at Helicon West.

February 27: Chadd VanZanten, fiction writer and author of the blog "How Small a Trout", featured at Helicon West.

March 27: Members of the Bull Pen, USU's Creative Writing Club, will participate in the Bull Pen Slam at Helicon West.

April 10: Helicon West will host the annual Poetry at Three reading, which feature Shanan Ballam, Star Coulbrooke, Brock Dethier, Ben Gunsberg, Robb Kunz, Phil Parisi, Anne Shifrer, and Shari Zollinger.

April 24: The winners of USU's 2014 Creative Writing Competition featured at Helicon West. The creative writing contest publication, Scribendi, will also be available for purchase.
*NOTE: This reading will take place at the Merrill-Cazier Library on USU's campus, rather than at the Logan Library.

Helicon West provides a regularly-scheduled place and time for members of the writing community to give their work a public voice, with no restrictions on levels of skill and no censorship of ideas or craft. Publication of readers' work is a main goal.

Sponsored by the USU Writing Center and the Logan Library.
