Friends of the Logan Library Public Book Sale

The Friends of the Logan Library are holding a huge 3-day book sale in our Lake Bonneville Room on September 21st, 22nd and 23rd. A special Friends of the Library Members-Only sale will be on Thursday, with FotLL Memberships available at the door for $5(individuals) and $10(family).

Utah Plein Air Exhibit (Brigham)

Painters and nature crossed paths during the Brigham City Museum’s Fourth Annual Plein Air Competition. The event was open to all ages. Works submitted will hang in the museum Sept. 8 through Nov. 11. Each artist also submitted a small painting for a fundraiser for the museum at a minimal cost. These pieces are also on display.

Winners of the competition are as follows: Susette Gertsch of Midway, First Place for “The Wild Garden”; Don Miskin of Logan, Second Place for “Farm to Market Road’; and G. Russell Case of Brigham City, Third Place for “Morning Flight.” All of these paintings received purchase prizes and will enter the museum’s permanent art collection.

An Awards Reception will be held Nov. 11th at 4:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited.

“En plein air” is a French expression that refers to the 19th century style of painting outdoors.

8:00 AM Girls in Aviation Day 2017

Girls ages 8-20 are invited to come explore the world of aviation at the Logan-Cache airport on Saturday, September 23rd, from 8 - noon. The day starts will breakfast at the airport at 8 a.m.

Each participant will receive a Girls in Aviation t-shirt, goodie bag filled with fun aviation themed items and snacks, and have the opportunity to learn about aviation careers by hands-on activities. Come make airplanes, try on a military flight suit or airline captains jacket, fly a flight simulataor, discover how a drone flies, hear from current and former aviation professionals and make a bracelet from aircraft cable. Aircraft will be on display and stay for an aerial demonstration by an aerobatic airplane! Girl Scouts can earn a patch--show up with your vest and complete a series of activities, log them in your 'log book' and receive your patch!

10:00 AM Run to Rescue 5K Fun Run/Walk

Join us for the 5th Annual Run to Rescue 5k Trail Run/Walk! Proceeds will be used to pay for pet food and veterinary bills at Four Paws Rescue. This is a great event for the whole family! Well mannered leashed dogs are welcomed to run/walk with their families. Adoptable, adorable Four Paws dogs will be available for a walk or run if you don't have a dog! We ask that you pick up after your dog (a waste bag is provided at check in). This is a non-competetive fun run!
