Musical Beginnings registration (class)

USU's Youth Conservatory presents MUSICAL BEGINNINGS....the Youth Conservatory’s newest course offering for the youngest musicians.

Designed for parents/caregivers and their babies/toddlers to take together, this class teaches ways to play musically with your child and develop their sense of beat, movement, and pitch, preparing them for musical success later in life. Together you’ll sing, chant, move, dance, listen, and play simple instruments. No at-home piano required for participation.

The 13-week course (Sept-Dec, or Jan-Apr) is $115. This is less than $9 per class! The $30 materials fee covers the cost of a parent book, CD, and music bag with musical rattle, rhythm sticks, and a colorful scarf for use in class and at-home.

9:30 AM Common Literature Experience - Convocation Lecture

This year's Common Literature book is How We Got To Now: Six Innovations That Made The Modern World, by Steven Johnson.

How We Got to Now is an engaging exploration of the history and impact of innovation through the centuries. Remarkable and informative, the book details the often surprising history of how ubiquitous objects of everyday modern life came into existence, often by happy accident. With a focus on multi-disciplinary synthesis, Johnsons dynamic style of authorship invites the reader to join him on a mind-bending exploration of our life as we know it.

The public is welcome to join first-year students in attending the Common Literature Convocation. It will also be broadcast live at http://aggiecast.usu.edu.
