All the World's a Stage: Costumes from Utah's Greats (Brigham City)

The Brigham City Museum of Art & History is pleased to present the exhibition All the World's a Stage: Costumes From Utah;s Greats opening Saturday, January 19, 2019. The exhibition will continue through Saturday, March 16, 2019.

The exclusive exhibition includes costumes designed, made, and used by performing arts companies from around the state including Utah Shakespeare Festival (Cedar City), Ballet West (Salt Lake City), Utah Opera (Salt Lake City), Utah Festival Opera (Logan), and Heritage Theater (Perry). In addition to original costumes, the exhibition features design drawings of some of the costumes, as well as photographs of the costumes and productions they were used in.

From January 17th to March 18th, 2015, the exhibit will be at the Brigham City Museum of Art and History. Opening Reception held January 17th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Refreshements available.

10:00 AM Rock and Fossil Day

All are invited to Rock and Fossil Day, hosted by USU's Department of Geology, held in the Geology Building, on the northeast corner of the Quad. Learn about local rocks and fossils; tour the remodeled Geology Museum; meet Percy, the Utahraptor. Presentations by about Lake Bonneville and more.

A "fossil dig", craft project and dinosaur cookies will be provided for children. Guests are invited to bring a rock, mineral or fossil for identification by a USU geologist..

10:00 AM USU Extension Gardening Series: Starting Seeds Indoors

Get a jump start on the growing season! This hands-on workshop will give participants the chance to try their own vegetable starts. Participants will receive timely tips along with starting trays, potting soil and vegetable seeds to take home.

This spring series of garden-related classes and workshops are sponsored by USU Extension. Each workshop will offer participants a hands-on educational experience that is sure to help any backyard hobbyist become a better gardener.

6:00 PM Capsa Trivia Night

CAPSA’s Trivia Night is a loud, fun, and exciting night competing as tables on trivia. Come test your knowledge and have a lot of fun as you compete as a table of 8. Trivia questions are for ages 14 and up. There will be prizes, mulligans, and dinner (baked potatoes and soup bar).

Last year we sold out six weeks prior to the event, so this year we are holding two nights. 2019’s event will be on Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23. It will be held at the Logan Country Club from 6 to 10 p.m.

CAPSA is a nonprofit domestic violence and sexual assault shelter and outreach service center. We serve approximately 600 individuals per year. Services range from shelter, casework, therapy, mobile crisis team, and more. We have a 24/7 hotline where anyone can call to speak with a trained domestic violence and sexual assault advocate.
