Magical Fairy Tale Storytime

Come and enjoy Fairy Tale Stories, a mini performance from Cache Valley Civic Ballet's upcoming production of Cinderella, and enter to win pointe shoes worn and autographed by Cinderella herself!

Utah Quilt Guild 40th Anniversary Exhibition (Brigham)

A kaleidoscope in fabric, minus the mirrors and bits of glass, awaits visitors to the Brigham City Museum during the Utah Quilt Guild’s Ruby Jubilee Exhibition Jan. 28 through March 25. Admission is free. More than 40 chapters in the guild, which is celebrating its 40th birthday, are represented in the exhibition. Barbara Walsh of Woodland Hills coordinated the event. Walsh, a past president of the guild, says, “Our organization is the first state quilting guild organized in America.”

6:30 PM Cache Makers: Engineering Sampler (USU E-Clubs)

For anyone with an interest in pursuing a career in STEM one day, or in learning about what engineering is, this is the group for you! We'll be exploring a different type of engineering each day; mechanical, civil, electrical, and biological engineering, among other types will all be represented.

Cache Makers will have student clubs from Utah State University coming in to talk to you about why they like engineering, what they were interested in doing in high school, and what they hope to do with engineering one day. They'll also be doing fun representative engineering projects with you such as mixing concrete, or arduino challenges.

This group is perfect for exploring what engineering is all about, and each week will have a fun new challenge. You'll also get to meet lots of future engineers and find out what makes them passionate about what they do! Intermediate (Grades 6-8 | Ages11-13), Senior (Grades 9-12 | Ages 14-17)

This group will meet Thursdays in the workshop from 6:30-8:30 pm for six weeks.

Parents of youth qualifying for free or reduced lunch may apply the discount code FRLunch to the tickets of their choice.

Due to new university policy, we can no longer offer discounts for parental involvement.

Basic overview of circuits for beginners. Participants will learn simple electronics with fun hands on projects using paper circuits, breadboards and arduinos. They will eventually progress to reading schematics to build a space invaders game. Junior (Grades 3-5 | Ages 8-10), Intermediate (Grades 6-8 | Ages 11-13)

7:00 PM Helicon West Open Mic Night

Helicon West is an open-mic reading/featured readers series for local poets and writers. Creative writers are invited to read up to 7 minutes of their original work. Arrive early to sign up. Readings are free, open to the public and uncensored.

Helicon West provides a regularly-scheduled place and time for members of the writing community to give their work a public voice, with no restrictions on levels of skill and no censorship of ideas or craft. Publication of readers' work is a main goal.

7:00 PM Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Critique Group

The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) is presenting a free in-person peer critique session.

This group is open to anyone interested in writing or illustrating for children. Great opportunity to meet and connect with other writers and illustrators in the region.

Bring 4 copies of your Young Adult, Middle Grade or Chapter Book manuscript (up to 5 pages double spaced) or a complete Picture Book manuscript or poem. Illustrators are welcome to share their portfolios.
