Friends of the Logan Library Public Book Sale

The Friends of the Logan Library is holding a special two-day Summer Book Sale at the Logan Library

The prices are the same as previous sales. $0.50 for paperbacks, $1.00 hardbacks and $5.00 a bag. Cash and personal checks accepted.

USU Extension Gardening Series: Proper Pruning - Trees and Shrubs

Pruning is one of the most daunting ourdoor tasks for homeowners. This hands-on workshop, taught by JayDee Gunnell (Horticulturist with USU Extension), will empower participants by removing the fear associated with pruning landscape plants.

This spring series of garden-related classes and workshops are sponsored by USU Extension. Each workshop will offer participants a hands-on educational experience that is sure to help any backyard hobbyist become a better gardener.

7:00 PM Helicon West Open Mic Night

Helicon West is an open-mic reading/featured readers series for local poets and writers. Creative writers are invited to read up to 7 minutes of their original work. Arrive early to sign up. Readings are free, open to the public and uncensored.

Helicon West provides a regularly-scheduled place and time for members of the writing community to give their work a public voice, with no restrictions on levels of skill and no censorship of ideas or craft. Publication of readers' work is a main goal.

Sponsored by the USU Writing Center and the Logan Library.

7:00 PM Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Critique Group

The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) is presenting a free in-person peer critique session.

This group is open to anyone interested in writing or illustrating for children. Great opportunity to meet and connect with other writers and illustrators in the region.

Bring 4 copies of your Young Adult, Middle Grade or Chapter Book manuscript (up to 5 pages double spaced) or a complete Picture Book manuscript or poem. Illustrators are welcome to share their portfolios.

Spektral Quartet actively pursues a vivid conversation between exhilarating works of the traditional canon and those written this decade, this year, or this week.
