Friends of the Logan Library Public Book Sale

The Friends of the Logan Library are holding a huge 3-day book sale in our Lake Bonneville Room on September 21st, 22nd and 23rd. A special Friends of the Library Members-Only sale will be on Thursday, with FotLL Memberships available at the door for $5(individuals) and $10(family).

Utah Plein Air Exhibit (Brigham)

Painters and nature crossed paths during the Brigham City Museum’s Fourth Annual Plein Air Competition. The event was open to all ages. Works submitted will hang in the museum Sept. 8 through Nov. 11. Each artist also submitted a small painting for a fundraiser for the museum at a minimal cost. These pieces are also on display.

Winners of the competition are as follows: Susette Gertsch of Midway, First Place for “The Wild Garden”; Don Miskin of Logan, Second Place for “Farm to Market Road’; and G. Russell Case of Brigham City, Third Place for “Morning Flight.” All of these paintings received purchase prizes and will enter the museum’s permanent art collection.

An Awards Reception will be held Nov. 11th at 4:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited.

“En plein air” is a French expression that refers to the 19th century style of painting outdoors.

Register for English Classes for adults at the English Language Center of Cache Valley. Beginning, Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are available morning and evenings. A special class for adults with no formal education or who cannot read or write is also offered. There is a $25 class fee.

Classes begin September 25th and run until December 8th.

Come join us in the Lake Bonneville Room every Thursday afternoon at 3:30pm for our After School Activity Programs. Each week is something different. Choose your interests or come every week. All activities are free and open to the public. Intended for kids age 5 to 11 and their families.

Join Logan City Poet Laureate Star Coulbrooke for the "White Cane Walkabout: On Being Your Authentic Self." Presented with the National Federation of the Blind, Cache Valley Chapter, in honor of May Swenson- and with two Braille translations!
