Some months it will be an old school system like the N64 or Super Nintendo. Other months, it may be the Wii or Xbox. Either way, you'll exercise your thumbs and reflexes!

6:00 PM Cache Makers: Adventure Games

Using C++ and the SFML graphics library, build a basic game engine for a 2D top-down game, upon which you can then build an RPG adventure game, a sandbox-type building game, or whatever you can dream up. Learn to use GitHub to store code and collaborate on projects. (Intermediate: Grades 6-8/Ages 11-13; Senior: Grades 9-12/Ages 14-17)

Prerequisites: 30+ WPM, some experience with a programming language such as C++, Java, or Python. "I don't plan to spend much time on teaching the basics of C++, rather we will jump right in to the game, and explain/clarify concepts as needed as we go. I would be okay with anyone who was in the Board Game Development group, as well as anyone who has some practice with C++, Java, Python, etc., or even someone who is willing to put in a few hours on Codecademy or similar prior to the start of the group."

This group will meet Tuesdays in the computer lab from 4:00-6:00 pm for six weeks.

Parents of youth qualifying for free or reduced lunch may apply the discount code FRLunch to the tickets of their choice.

Due to new university policy, we can no longer offer discounts for parental involvement.
