9:00 AM Scout Saturday: Environmental Science Merit Badge

A full day of environmental science and hands-on experiments for Boy Scouts! This Scout Saturday fulfills all requirements for the Environmental Science Merit Badge. Activities are led by SNC’s certified scout counselor and include comparing species diversity of field sites, learning about endangered species, and conducting an experiment on impacts and response strategies for environmental emergencies.

9:00 AM Walk to End Alzheimer's

Everyone has a reason to end Alzheimer's.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions.

While there is no fee to register, each participant is expected to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness. The Alzheimer’s Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help each participant reach their fundraising goal.

10:00 AM Cruising To Stop Abusing

We are excited for the 3rd Annual Cruising to Stop Abusing CAPSA Bike Ride . It will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 in Wellsville, UT.

CAPSA provides help, hope and healing for local members of our community who have experienced domestic or sexual violence. As we know, violence can effect anyone. Take a stand against violence and help us go Cruising to Stop Abusing in 2014. Our bike ride provides a challenge for all levels of cyclists with the option to ride 11, 46, or 68 miles. CAPSA provides breakfast, lunch, and fully stocked aid stations. Each route offers a scenic fall view of both the East and West sides of Cache Valley. All routes begin and end in Wellsville.

Early registration date is September 2nd.

We are seeking dancers for the 2014-2015 season. If you are a mature, experienced dancer with an interest in more in-depth study in modern/contemporary dance, performance, and choreography, our company may be right for you. Develop your craft and enjoy dance with a fantastic organization!

Weekly class (W or TH; no charge) and rehearsals (weekday evenings and/or Sat mornings; Jan-April) required. Teaching opportunities exist for those interested. Opportunities for development and to work with local and guest choreographers occur every season.

11:00 AM Friends of the Logan Library Book Sale

Through a generous donation from Gene Needham, owner of the former store “Books of Yesterday,” the Friends of the Logan Library will host a large-scale book sale in the old Car Care Center at 321 N Main St, beginning Saturday, August 16, 2014. The sale will continue into October.

Over 30,000 books will be available for purchase, as well as some wooden tables and shelving units from the recently vacated store, all at extremely low “yard sale” type prices.
