All the World's a Stage: Costumes from Utah's Greats (Brigham City)

The Brigham City Museum of Art & History is pleased to present the exhibition All the World's a Stage: Costumes From Utah;s Greats opening Saturday, January 19, 2019. The exhibition will continue through Saturday, March 16, 2019.

The exclusive exhibition includes costumes designed, made, and used by performing arts companies from around the state including Utah Shakespeare Festival (Cedar City), Ballet West (Salt Lake City), Utah Opera (Salt Lake City), Utah Festival Opera (Logan), and Heritage Theater (Perry). In addition to original costumes, the exhibition features design drawings of some of the costumes, as well as photographs of the costumes and productions they were used in.

From January 17th to March 18th, 2015, the exhibit will be at the Brigham City Museum of Art and History. Opening Reception held January 17th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Refreshements available.

Come join us in the Lake Bonneville Room every Thursday afternoon at 3:30pm for our After School Activity Programs. Each week is something different. Choose your interests or come every week. All activities are free and open to the public. Intended for kids age 5 to 11 and their families.

This four week camp will demonstrate the awesome powers of science in our everyday lives. Each week the class will participate in difference hands-on experiments. The last week of class participants will be making homemade ice cream!!

6:00 PM Jazz Night at Elite Hall

Jazz Night at Elite Hall is an Elite Hall Restoration and Larry Smith jazz scholarship fundraiser! Come enjoy dinner, dancing lessons, swing competition and incredible music provided by the USU Big Bands!

Over the 3-day event, the USU Big Bands, directed by Jon Gudmundson and Greg Wheeler, will serenade you with jammin', live jazz music while you dance the night away on Utah's only spring-loaded dance floor!

Each night, the USU Big Band Swing Club will be teaching lessons starting at 6:00 PM for those who would like to brush up on their swing steps or learn some new ones!

7:00 PM Helicon West Open Mic Night

Helicon West is an open-mic reading/featured readers series for local poets and writers. Creative writers are invited to read up to 7 minutes of their original work. Arrive early to sign up. Readings are free, open to the public and uncensored.

Helicon West provides a regularly-scheduled place and time for members of the writing community to give their work a public voice, with no restrictions on levels of skill and no censorship of ideas or craft. Publication of readers' work is a main goal.

Sponsored by the USU Writing Center and the Logan Library.
