No Child Left Inside Week Activity
Come join us for Cache Valley's first No Child Left Inside Week! Highly engaging field activities with local naturalists. Activities will run from 1-2 hours and will take place at the following locations:

1) Mack Nature Park (in Smithfield Canyon, across the road from Mack Park)
2) Denzil Stewart Nature Park (in Logan, 1st South and 750 East, cross the river on pedestrian bridge)
3) Stokes Nature Center in Nibley (just south of Blacksmith Fork River turn right on 2600 South. Travel 200 meters and enter through gate on right side of road)

Schedule of Activities:

June 11:
10AM (at Stewart NP): Give a bug a hug! (insects)
7PM (at Mack NP): Water bugs!

June 12:
10AM (at SNC Nibley): Nature Journaling
7PM (at Stewart NP): Tweeting and Twittering! (birds)

June 13:
10AM (at Stewart NP): Bat Man!
7PM (at Mack NP): Edible and useful plants

June 14:
10AM (at Mack NP): Nature Crafts
7PM (at SNC Nibley): Gone Fishin'!

June 15:
10AM (at Stewart NP): Rockon! (rocks and minerals)
7PM (at Stewart NP): Snakes Alive! (reptiles)

June 16:
10AM-12PM (at all 3 sites): Bioblitz!: a competition for who can discover and record the most critters! (A digital camera or phone with camera is necessary for documentation)

11:00 AM Investment Basics with Dr. Lown
USU professor Dr. Jean M. Lown will speak on "Investment Basics" as part of Logan Library's Adult Summer Reading Program.

Dr. Jean Lown is a professor in the Family, Consumer, and Human Development Department at Utah State University. She teaches undergraduate courses in the Family Finance program and graduate courses in family economics. Her research focuses on bankruptcy in Utah, women and financial planning attitudes and practices, and retirement planning. She teaches a monthly "Financial Planning for Women" workshop for the community. She is co-author of the "Guidebook for Late Savers for Retirement," a workbook targeted at baby boomers who are behind in savings for retirement and want to accelerate their retirement investing program.

12:00 PM Noon Music at the Tabernacle
Monday through Friday during the summer months (June 4 - August 10) music is provided free of charge at the Logan Tabernacle. The program starts at 12PM, lasts 30 minutes and is performed by various artists. The only exception is that during Summerfest on the Logan Tabernacle Grounds on June 14,15 and 16th, there will be no concerts inside the building There will be many musical performances on the grounds outside, however. A schedule of performers can be found on the Logan Tabernacle's blog, at the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau, or at the concerts themselves.

1:30 PM Artisan Cheese Tour
Visitors to True Blue Aggie Cheese at Utah State University can see how cheese is made in a free tour. The tours will consist of viewing an 8-10 minute DVD on Aggie Cheese and then sampling a few cheese varieties for a total of about 15 minutes. Tours begin at 1:30pm Monday through Thursday (except on Holidays & Aggie Ice Cream Tours dates). Come and learn how to make Aggie Cheese!
