Music for the Small and Tall - Fun in the Sun!

Summer Session: Fun in the Sun! This is an 6 week class, based on the Orff Schulwerk approach to teaching music. In this approach, children make music with activities that are enjoyable and natural for them such us simple songs, rhythms, and movements.

Classes run from May 9th to June 14th. Check website for more information.

Step It Up Walking Challenge

Join us for the "Step It Up" Walking Challenge in May and help us walk 150,000 miles!

  • Register at pr.loganutah.org or http://brhd.org. Everyone who signs up will receive a FREE pedometer.
  • Track and log weekly miles. Report in weekly Step It Up email.

1:30 PM SAGE University Program

The Logan Library's SAGE (Senior Adults Gaining Enrichment) University is a series of enrichment programs at the Logan Library. The programs are intented for our senior patrons but all are welcome to attend.

  • June 14th: Cache Refugee & Immigrant Connection presentation.
    • Our SAGE University speaker for June will be Julie Taquin from Cache Refugee & Immigrant Connection. She will talk about the great work their nonprofit organization does in our community.
  • July 12th: Moments that Mattered: From the Lives of Selected Logan LDS Temple Presidents
    • Dr. Ken Godfrey will be presenting this fascinating look at lesser know facts of some of Logan LDS Temple Presidents. Including:
      • Who was arrested 13 times while on a mission?
      • Who visited Russia with a million-dollar bank voucher for the world's best sugar beet seed?
      • Who died at an Ottawa, Canada train depot - all alone - while serving as a mission president?
      • Who survived an encounter with a lynx?
      • Who helped convert Karl G Maeser while on a mission and living mostly on sauerkraut?
      • And other stories...

5:00 PM Free Writing Workshops with Community Writing Center

The Cache Valley Community Writing Center will be holding the following workshops in June:

  • June 14th: How to write engaging dialogue! Learn how to let your characters speak for themselves.
  • June 21st: Revision tips and tricks. How do you know when your story, poem, or essay is ready?
  • June 28th:: How to write strong action scenes! (Without sounding like a 1960's comicbook.)

All CVCWC Worskhops are held in the Brider Room of the Logan Library from 5 pm to 6 pm, Wednesday nights. Free one-on-one tutoring is available from 6 pm to 7 pm. No registration required. Free and open to the public.

7:00 PM ABLE Accounts: Planning Finances Around a Disability

Come learn about how to save and invest using an Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) account, newly formed and passed by Congress to provide a tax benefit to those with disabilities.

If you have a child with a disability, you've probably worried about financially taking care of their needs in the present and future - especially after you're gone.
