Controlling Red Air With A Gas Tax

clear clear

The Cache Clean Air Consortium and USU Sustainability Council are sponsoring a presentation by Dr. Arthur Caplan, Department of Applied Economics and USU College of Agriculture & Applied Sciences, entitled Controlling RED Air with a Gas Tax: the case of Cache County, Utah.

This presentation is based on research conducted by Dr. Caplan & a former graduate student which estimates the social net benefit of controlling red air days in Cache Valley through a seasonal gas tax. The health benefits associated with cleaner air as drivers reduce vehicle use in response to higher gas prices will be part of the discussion.
