My Antonia: a Book Discussion

clear clear

The Logan Library will be hosting a book discussion on Willa Cather's timeless pioneer novel, My Antonia. This discussion will be led by Dr. Steve Shively. There will also be food inspired by the book and door prizes for attendees.

This book is also part of our Fall Reading Program for Adults, and we're leading a community read of the book through the month of October. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library either to read or listen.

Steve Shively, Associate Professor of English at Utah State University, is a Nebraska native with a life-long interest in Willa Cather. He has published essays on Cather, is an editor of the Willa Cather Review, and serves on the Board of Governors of the Willa Cather Foundation. He appeared onstage with Laura Bush for the dedication of the National Willa Cather Center, is a friend of the "real" Antonia's granddaughter, and has recently returned from presenting a paper at a Willa Cather Symposium in Northern Ireland.
