Youth and Families with Promise

Youth and Families with Promise (YFP) is an early intervention/prevention program for youth, ages 10 to 14, who are showing early signs of low self-confidence, behavior problems in school or in the community, or who are experiencing academic difficulty. YFP not only matches a youth with a young adult mentor, but also with an older person or couple who can serve as grand-mentors to the youth and to the entire family.

Volunteer needs: College age mentors who can commit to 1-2 hours per week to spend with the youth, couples to serve as family mentors who are willing to commit 2-3 hours per month with the family and a 4-H leader (18 or older) who can commit to 3-4 hours per month.
