After School Activity: Cache Makers

Join the Cache Makers at the Logan Library for a fun hour of the latest technology for kids.

For ages 6-12.

When: Thursday, Feb. 9 at 3:30 p.m.

Where: Lake Bonneville Room


A separate craft activity will be available in the library's children's area for younger children.

ALA Children's Book Awards Announced

The 2017 American Library Association Awards for children's literature were announced on Monday, January 23. Here are the winners!


John Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children's literature:

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill.



Randolph Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children:

Radiant Child: the story of young artist Jean-Michel Basquiat by Javaka Steptoe.

Note: This book also won the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award, recognizing an African-American artist of outstanding books for children and young adults.


Theodor Seuss Geisel Award for the most distinguished beginning reader book:

We are Growing! by Laurie Keller.


All of the following awards were won by a single title: March, Book Three, the final installment in John Lewis' graphic novel memoir about the civil rights movement.

Coretta Scott King Book Award, recognizing an African-American author of outstanding books for children and young adults

Michael L. Printz Award for excellence in literature written for young adults

Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Award for most distinguished informational book for children

YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults
