The Logan Library has 12 computers with Internet access and office software for public use. We also have an assistive technology computer for blind and visually impaired patrons, and we provide wireless internet access throughout the Library.
A Logan Library Card or a Computer Use Card is required to sign-up for a computer. Computer Use Cards are available free of charge to anyone including individuals who live outside the City of Logan. Computer Use cards allow computer use only. Books and other items cannot be checked out on a Computer Use Card. Minors under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian with them when signing up for a Computer Use Card. You must present one form of I.D. when applying for a Computer Use Card.
We also offer visitors a one-time computer guest pass for $1.00.
Each cardholder is limited to one computer session per day. The maximum computer session is 60 minutes.
To protect your privacy, files saved on the computer's hard drive are erased after each computer session. Once the session expires there is no way to retrieve unsaved information or information saved on the computer's hard drive.
The best way to save your work is on a USB flash drive or a CD. CD-RWs are available for $1.00 at the Reference Desk. The computers also have readers for memory cards and memory sticks for most digital cameras and portable devices. Our computers do not have floppy disk drives. However, we do have portable floppy disk drives available at the Reference Desk.
Each computer has a color inkjet printer. We also have a central black and white laser printer. All printouts are 10 cents per page.
The following software is available on the computers:
