Robert S. Campbell

Robert S. Campbell was born November 6, 1854 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert Lang Campbell and Mary Stewart. He married Rachel Elizabeth Ballif on October 16, 1876 and they had eight children. Mr. Campbell came to Logan in 1873. He died in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 5, 1931.

Mr. Campbell was already participating in Utah politics in 1872, then only 18 years old. He at that time, as chief clerk, called the Utah House of Representatives of the Utah Territorial Legislature to order. He was general manager of the Utah Light & Power Company. In 1906 he worked as secretary of the state senate. Mr. Campbell was one of the founders and charter members of the Commercial Club, now the Cache Chamber of Commerce.

In 1882 he was elected mayor and was then elected to a second term, but resigned the office on September 2, 1885.
