Henry G. Hayball

Henry G. Hayball was born on May 19, 1859 in Chard, England. His parents were George Sampson Hayball and Louisa Hancock. He married Harriett Parry in about 1880 and Eliza Parsons in 1885 and had one child. He settled in Logan, Utah in 1868 and died in Logan on January 4, 1939.

Mr. Dayball was an active local businessman, opening a general merchandise store in 1885 that was open for over 35 years as well as other interests. His public service included deputy sheriff of Cache County, member of the Logan City Council, and member of the Logan City School Board.

Mr. Dayball was mayor of Logan City from 1912 to 1914. He was the first mayor under the commission form of government. As mayor, he brought to Logan the first fire engine that was owned and operated by Logan.
