The J.R. Edwards building was described in an 1892 December issue of the Logan paper as "a model of beauty." From 1889 to 1907 when Mr. Edwards left Cache Valley, he was affiliated with the Methodist Church and donated large sums of money to help build a church for Methodists in the community.

Left to Right: 123 N Main - Hotel Eagle, 133 N Main - Rochdale, 135 N Main - Cardon-Ballard Block, 141 N Main - Anderson's general merchandise store, 147 N Main - Logan Knitting Works. 149 N Main - Wilkinson's Stationery Store was torn down and Cache County Offices built in its place. The number changed to 179 North Main.

8 1908 Simplex Automobile

9 1912 Model Pumping Engine

This is the first gasoline motor pumping engine west of the Mississippi River. It was purchased in 1911 and delivered in 1912. H. G. Hayball was the mayor. In 1939 it was remodeled by Logan firemen into a ladder truck. The main ladder reached a height of 55 feet.

The Thatcher building, People's Store, Cardon's Furniture Store, Harness shop, Lumber Yard and United Order building on Main Street. The People's Store was a branch of the Logan Z.C.M.I. It was a long narrow room, approximately 25 feet by 150 feet, with two women clerks who worked for $30.00 per month.

Built c1885 this building was divided into two businesses: a Drug & Liquor store and a Millenary & Fancy Goods store according to the Sanborn Map. Tiles are still in use at the front entrance. In the basement was a Dance Hall with the stairs to the basement at the rear of the building.

Built c1885, the building was originally two stores, a Drug & Liquor store and a Millenary & Fancy Goods store. The front still has two entrances and the original colorful tiles.
