U and I Furniture Store

Date: about 1920

Address: 36 West 100 North

The two-story building on the left was constructed c1890. Andreas Peterson, a boot and shoe manufacturer, appears to have been the first owner of the building. However, the first record located of a business at this location was in 1915 when Magnus Oleson operated a shoe repair shop in this building. The second floor of this small building was cut away from the Fornoff Music store and the facade melded into the U and I Furniture store.
