Constructed in 1895 by A.G. Barber, an English sailor who settled in Cache County in 1860 and was a member of the School of the Prophets. He was one of the early Utah Pioneers. The earliest known business in the building was Cache Valley Mercantile Co. The U.S. Post Office used the building for some time. There has also been a pool and billiard hall, barber shop, bar, organic foods store and the Library in the building. Mr. Dewitt used the second story and rented out the lower part to the library.
