The house was built between 1913 and 1914 by Marriner Eccles. Mr. Eccles was a prominent Logan business man, excelling in the banking and sugar industries. In 1934 he was appointed Governor of the Federal Reserve Board by President F.D. Roosevelt. The Federal Reserve Building in Washington D.C. the Eccles Building, was named in his honor.
