All of us have dreams – not just the dreams we have while we’re asleep, but dreams about what we want to do, places we’d like to go, things we’d like to see. Reading is a great way to help us dream. We can find all kinds of wonderful places and things to dream about in the books we read. Come to the library this summer and find some books to help you dream big!
June 3rd - August 16th, 2012
Children from birth to age 10.
Sign up to participate in the Summer Reading Program, then read for at least 20 minutes each day. You may count the time you spend reading books, comic books, newspapers, or magazines. You may also count the time you spend listening to books that are read to you, or to recorded books. There are no assignments (and never any tests) – you choose what you want to read!
Keep track of your reading on your Reading Card (you’ll get one when you sign up) and you will get a prize when you bring the completed card back to the library. You can earn up to four prizes this summer, just by reading.
For ages 6-10:
For ages 5 and under:
Note: The library reserves the right to substitute different prizes with no prior notice.
Summer Storytimes: We will be hosting drop-in storytimes each Thursday in July. One session will be for children ages 5 and under, and the other for those ages 6 and older. Both will be held at 11:00 AM. There will also be a special evening storytime for those who couldn't make it to the day sessions on Wednesday, July 11 at 7 PM.
