Banned Books Week 2016
![]() September 25 to October 1 is Banned Books Week!
![]() Check out frequently challenged books to explore the issues and controversies around book challenges and book banning. The books featured during Banned Books Week have all been targeted with removal or restrictions in libraries and schools. While books have been and continue to be banned, part of the Banned Books Week celebration is the fact that, in a majority of cases, the books have remained available. This happens only thanks to the efforts of librarians, teachers, students, and community members who stand up and speak out for the freedom to read. Hispanic Heritage Month / Mes de la Herencia Hispana
![]() ![]() September 15 to October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month and the Logan Library is celebrating! Hispanic Heritage Festival When: Saturday, September 17 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Where: On the plaza outside the library and inside the library too! Latin American Food vendors will be offering authentic Salvadorian food, as well as tacos, churros, limonada, and other great foods for sale. Entertainment will include Ballet Folklorico Tutulli, and there will be great prize drawings and activities including free crafts and activities for the kids, free balloon animals, face painting, and much more.
