The 2009 Pulitzer Prizes were announced today. The Logan Library owns the following prize winning books:

• Fiction: Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout
• History: The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family by Annette Gordon-Reed
• Biography: American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House by Jon Meacham
• General Nonfiction: Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II by Douglas A. Blackmon

This Week is National Library Week. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
