Hispanic Heritage Month / Mes de la Herencia Hispana

September 15 to October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month and the Logan Library is celebrating!

We will be hosting activities throughout September and October to celebrate Hispanic Culture. Mark your calendar for the following great family activities:
  • Thursday, September 17th 6:30 p.m.: Special movie presentation of The Book of Life (PG) - A recent animated family film steeped in Dia de los Muertos culture, in English with Spanish subtitles
  • Thursday, September 24th at 3:30 p.m.: Afterschool Activity: Hispanic Stories and Crafts - We'll have some fun stories, do Mexican folk-art finger paintings, make Guatamalan 'worry dolls,' and more.
  • Saturday, September 26th from 10:00 - 2:00 p.m.: Hispanic Heritage Festival on the library plaza. There will be food, music, dance performances, prizes and lots of fun
  • Friday, October 9th 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.: Friday night Gallery Walk featuring the photographic art of Johnny Lopez and the pinatas of Gloria Perez.
  • Friday, October 9th at 6:30 p.m.: Special movie presentation of Frida (R*) - A critically-acclaimed biographical drama of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, in English with Spanish subtitles, shown while we are open late for the gallery walk (*Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian)
